Chelsea have reportedly joined London rivals Arsenal in the race to sign Manchester United youngster Dean Henderson on a free transfer next summer.

The goalkeeper, who is playing on loan at Shrewsbury will be out of contract at Old Trafford come the end of the season.

Talks of a new deal at The Theatre of Dreams are currently under talks and both Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte believe they can sign the 20 year-old to their prospective sides.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal have showed interest in Henderson but Chelsea have also now joined the race for his signature.

Per the provided link, up to 14 EPL clubs are said to be in the race for the England u-21 international with the likes of West Brom, Southampton and Watford all keen.

Arsenal have allowed longtime shot-stopper Wojciech Szczesny leave the club this summer, while Emiliano Martinez’s at the Emirates remains unclear after he was shipped out on-loan.

Henderson appears to be marked as the one to rival David Ospina and veteran Petr Cech for a starting role between the sticks.
