Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal Preview – Prediction, how to watch & potential line-ups

Tottenham Hotspur will take on Arsenal in the 193rd instalment of the North London derby on Sunday.

Antonio Conte’s side fell to a disappointing 2-0 loss at the start of this month, with Douglas Luiz and Emiliano Buendia netting a goal each.

However, the Italian boss inspired a strong reaction from his team as they stunned Crystal Palace by sealing a 4-0 victory.

Harry Kane was in destructive form as he twice found the back of the net after the interval. Matt Doherty and Son Heung-min also extended the scoreline as Spurs won comfortably.

They are currently sitting fifth in the Premier League standings, with two points behind the top-four.

Meanwhile, their bitter rivals Arsenal have been enjoying a spectacular 2022-23 season so far.

Mikel Arteta’s side have lost only one of their 17 league games and are currently five points clear at the top of the table.

They are now genuine title contenders and will be looking to seal full points from their next league encounter.

Victory in the North London derby could give them a massive boost in their title race with Manchester City who are set to face Manchester United this week at Old Trafford.

Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham pulled off an incredible feat under Conte last season when a late surge saw them securing a top-four finish. However, despite a busy summer transfer window, their performances have failed to impress this term.

Following the World Cup break, they have won only one of their three Premier League matches. They dropped points at Brentford before suffering a demoralising 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa.

However, in more recent Tottenham news, they claimed an emphatic victory at Crystal Palace before edging past Portsmouth with a narrow 1-0 success in the FA Cup.

Arsenal

Arsenal have been excellent with their performances this season but they failed to secure full points from their previous league game against Newcastle United. Despite dominating possession, the Gunners couldn’t breach the defences of their visitors and ultimately had to settle for a point.

However, they eased past Oxford United in their latest clash in the FA Cup. Mohamed Elneny broke the deadlock before Eddie Nketiah scored a quick double to help the Gunners to a comfortable 3-0 win.

Spurs are expected to provide a tough contest this Sunday, but we don’t see the current league leaders dropping points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
