Strikers Arsenal could sign in the summer

Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge is almost over following Wednesday’s goalless draw at Nottingham Forest

The latest stalemate means the Gunners are now 13 points behind leaders Liverpool, who have lost only once in the English top-flight this season.

The result once again saw the conversation centred around their lack of a quality striker.

Mikel Arteta’s side failed to add a top goalscorer in the summer transfer window, but a centre-forward will likely be a priority for them in the next window.

Below we have listed a few names they could sign this summer.

Jonathan David

The Canada international has been earning rave reviews with his performances in Ligue 1 this season. In 36 appearances across all competitions, he has netted 20 goals and created nine assists. The 25-year-old has also been averaging 2.2 shots, 12.11 xG and 2.2 ball recoveries per game in the French top-flight.

David will be available to sign as a free-agent in the summer when his contract at Lille will expire. His situation has sparked an interest from Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus, as reported by Sports View

Liam Delap

Liam Delap has been a huge hit for Ipswich Town since joining the club from Manchester City in the summer for £15 million fee. Despite playing in a struggling team, he has scored an impressive 10 goals and registered two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Delap has a contract at Ipswich until 2029, but he is expected to leave the club if they get relegated to the Championship. The Tractor Boys will likely demand an enormous fee for the 22-year-old, plus Arsenal also face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool for the forward.

Viktor Gyokeres

Viktor Gyokeres is one of the elite strikers in Europe. He has been in red-hot form this campaign for Sporting Lisbon, scoring 35 goals in 37 appearances so far.

The Sweden international’s contract with Sporting will run out in 2028, but his deal reportedly has a release clause of £83m. Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for 26-year-old, with his former boss Ruben Amorim keen to reunite with him at Old Trafford.
