Alexis Sanchez is ready to reject interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in favour of a reunion with former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, according to the Mirror.
The Chile international was close to joining Man city over the summer, however, the Sky Blues’ late £60m bid didn’t give Arsenal enough time to convince Thomas Lemar of a move to the Emirates, despite AS Monaco accepting a £92m transfer offer for him.
Now, with few months left before Sanchez contract expires and face the exit door at the Emirates for free, it appears that Guardiola’s side will try to convince Arsenal of allowing the 28-year-old forward leave the club in January for a cut-price.
Mesut Ozil is another Arsenal player who might leave the club for free next summer, there’s a real lack of common sense in tying the players down to long-term contracts.
Despite Arsenal early signings of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette last summer, we were left disappointing at the way the club handle transfer business. A number of players left the club, especially in defensive areas, and what was once a strong depth is now a couple of injuries away from a crisis.
