Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been left out of the Wales squad by head coach Ryan Giggs for their meetings with Uruguay and Czech Republic in the China Cup, reports Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old will instead be in Arsenal’s squad for Thursday evening’s Europa League meeting with AC Milan. Ramsey may not feature given the lack of activity in recent weeks, but he’ll be in the matchday and available for Arsene Wenger if needed.

Despite the former Cardiff City midfielder getting a full 90 minutes in the first leg of the last-16 clash with Milan, he has missed three of Arsenal’s last four Premier League outings. Jack Wilshere and Granit Xhaka should start alongside each other in deep-lying midfield roles as a result.

Ramsey has impressed for the Gunners this season, scoring and creating 12 goals in 17 league starts, averaging a tackle or interception every 31 minutes. The box-to-box midfielder boasts an 82% dribble success rate and creates more than one chance=per-game on average.

His energy in the midfield will be a big loss to Arsenal, but they’ll hope they have enough to keep Milan at bay. The Gunners won 2-0 in the first leg at the San Siro, so avoiding defeat by more than a one-goal margin will see them into the quarter-finals.
