According to reports, AC Milan are reportedly still interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, a player previously linked with Arsenal.
Ceballos was highly linked with a top host European sides while still at Real Betis. AC Milan, Arsenal and Liverpool were all thought to be monitoring his, but the trio eventually lose out as he signed for Real Madrid in the summer.
According to Sport via talkSPORT, though, joining the European champions as not deterred Milan from trying again in January. Ceballos joined Madrid after having a highly sensation Under-21 European Championship with Spain. He was named the winner of UEFA’s new U21 EURO Player of the Tournament.
The 21-year-old midfielder emerged from Betis’ academy 2013/14 season and went on to register more than 100 appearances for the club. So far this season, Ceballos has made six appearances for Zinedine Zidane’s side, and face tough competition from Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro for a starting role.
Ceballos lack of playing time at Santiago Bernaebu is what Milan are hoping to exploit, as they feel they can sign the Spaniard with the promise of more first team football. Given he just joined Madrid, I don’t see Ceballos switching clubs again so soon in my opinion.
