According to The S*n, Bayern Munich have ruled themselves out of signing Girondins Bordeaux winger Malcom this summer.

“I have never seen him play. Therefore, I am not able give an opinion on him. But I don’t think there is interest here. He always gets put into the shopping window but nobody really goes after him,” said Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes.

The 21-year-old, who joined from Corinthians in 2016, has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Bayern after scoring and creating 11 goals in Ligue 1 last season and 14 this campaign.

Arsenal may have struggled battling Bayern for his signature, so the Bundesliga side distancing themselves from Malcom is good news. However, the Gunners already have an overstocked attack so it’s unlikely they will add to it this summer unless they let one or two players go.

Manager Arsene Wenger will have Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Danny Welbeck, Henrick Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil, Alex Iwobi and Lucas Perez (loaned out to Deportivo) for options next season. They have a need to strengthen their defence and midfield, rather than their attack.

Malcom wouldn’t be cheap either with the report valuing him at £50m, so Tottenham could be given a free run to capture his signature. Arsenal may still have question marks about his quality in the final third, given he’s only contributed 25 goals in 63 games. It’s hardly prolific.
