Arsenal travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in the Premier League on Wednesday night and will fancy their chances to finally end their wait for an away win in 2018.

Arsene Wenger’s side haven’t picked up a point on the road this year, but Leicester’s poor form should see Arsenal come away with a long-awaited victory. The players will want to deliver the perfect farewell to their departing boss by finishing the campaign strongly. They have two games remaining.

Leicester are struggling for form

Claude Puel’s Leicester side are currently ninth in the Premier League table with 44 points from 36 games this season and are coming off the back of four defeats from their last five.

  • 7/4/18: Leicester 1-2 Newcastle United
  • 14/4/18: Burnley 2-1 Leicester
  • 19/4/18: Leicester 0-0 Southampton
  • 28/4/18: Crystal Palace 5-0 Leicester
  • 5/5/18: Leicester 0-2 West Ham

The Foxes have been short of goals of late, scoring just twice in their previous five league outings, and have conceded 11 at the other end. City’s home form has been even worse, with Puel’s men enduring a six-game winless run at the King Power, scoring only four times.

  • 3/2/18: Leicester 1-1 Swansea City
  • 24/2/18: Leicester 1-1 Stoke City
  • 3/3/18: Leicester 1-1 Bournemouth
  • 7/4/18: Leicester 1-2 Newcastle United
  • 19/4/18: Leicester 0-0 Southampton
  • 5/5/18: Leicester 0-2 West Ham United

Leicester’s poor form has led to speculation that they could be after a new manager in the summer, so it’s hard to see the Midlands side putting in a top performance as there’s little other than pride riding on the outcome – they’re five points off eighth-placed Everton and three points clear of 10th-placed Newcastle.

Arsenal couldn’t wish for a better opponent to end their winless away run. Leicester can’t buy a win at home, they have little to play for and have a woeful head-to-head record against the Gunners.

Arsenal have dominated past meetings with Leicester

Arsenal haven’t lost to Leicester in any competition since November 23, 1994, with the Foxes enjoying a 2-1 victory at Filbert Street. They’ve only mustered the odd stalemate with the Gunners ever since which doesn’t bode well for their chances on Wednesday night.

Leicester and Arsenal’s head-to-head record

(since Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League in 2014)

  • 11/8/17: Arsenal 4-3 Leicester
  • 26/4/17: Arsenal 1-0 Leicester
  • 20/8/16: Leicester 0-0 Arsenal
  • 14/2/16: Arsenal 2-1 Leicester
  • 26/9/15: Leicester 2-5 Arsenal
  • 10/2/15: Arsenal 2-1 Leicester
  • 31/8/14: Leicester 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal are in desperate need of an away win. Only Swansea (2), Brighton & Hove Albion (2) and Stoke City (1) have won fewer games on the road in the Premier League than the Gunners (3). In 2018, Wenger’s side have suffered defeat in all six of their away league games.

  • 14/1/18: Bournemouth 2-1 Arsenal
  • 30/1/18: Swansea 3-1 Arsenal
  • 10/2/18: Tottenham 1-0 Arsenal
  • 4/3/18: Brighton 2-1 Arsenal
  • 15/4/18: Newcastle 2-1 Arsenal
  • 29/4/18: Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal

Arsenal emerged victorious from a seven-goal thriller in the reverse meeting with Leicester back in August. They should have enough attacking quality from Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrik Mkhitiaryan to get over the line on Wednesday.
