Karl Hein set to sign new contract at Arsenal

Arsenal have persuaded Karl Hein to extend his stay at the club, according to The Athletic

The 22-year-old joined the Gunners in 2018 but has managed to make only one senior appearance for the North London giants.

He was set to become a free agent at the end of this month but the club have reportedly convinced him to pen a new deal.

Mikel Arteta’s side are expected to lose Aaron Ramsdale in the 2024 Premier League summer transfer window

The England international is seeking a new challenge elsewhere after losing his starting berth to David Raya, who arrived on loan last season but will likely be handed a permanent contract.

Karl Hein has earned 30 caps for Estonia but has struggled for opportunities at the Emirates Stadium.

The 22-year-old is expected to be sent out on loan next season to gain first-team experience.

If he impresses during his loan spell, opportunities could open up for him at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are expected to sign a new goalkeeper this summer with Ramsdale pushing for an exit.

The North Londoners are eyeing a move for Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow but they face competition from Liverpool for the 26-year-old.

The Reds are also looking to add another goalie with Caoimhin Kelleher likely to depart this summer.

Bijlow was excellent for Feyenoord last term as he helped his side keep eight clean-sheets in 17 Eredivisie games.

But the Dutch footballer’s injury record is a big concern for Arsenal as he remained sidelined for half of the campaign due to fitness issues.
