Arsenal have two players in line to seamlessly replace Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. And these two players follow what trend of focusing on the effort and enthusiasm of Arsenal game rather than the creative skill or ability.
We are speaking here of course, of England striker Danny Welbeck for Alexis and his compatriot Jack Wilshere for Ozil. Accepted, the duo don’t posses that fine-tuning and clinical edge, but in return the team get two determined stars with enough class and quality to fill the gap.
Let Alexis and Ozil go in January, because we are ready to let the internal solutions have a chance before addressing more permanent solutions in the summer, should there be need for it.
The problem isn’t about replacing them, however, the issue on ground is keeping the two Englishman capable of replacing the contract rebels. And if fans are worried about injuries – which cannot be denied – then be rest assured that with Nigerian Alex Iwobi backing Wilshere and Reiss Nelson backing Welbeck, Arsenal have a solid set of fill-ins come to pass.
Without any doubt, the class of Alexis and Ozil will be missed. The pair are among the most tactful and talented players in the modern game. But relying on those skill sets and the super star mentality has gotten the club to a few minor trophies, but not the heights we were supposed to reach. Pathetic!
Seeing what Sead Kolinac is capable of and then seeing it in Welbeck helped us to see that Arsenal no longer dependent on any single player as we might have thought. Sure, I believe every supporter love to have world class stars they can get behind, but “what is world class if it doesn’t help the club elevate to that level?”
I, for one, have been much more rave about by Welbeck’s return than by Alexis’s prolonged stay. Welbeck still has so much to prove while the Chilean doesn’t.
And the same can be said of Jack Wilshere vs Ozil. You have to look at their motivation, even for guys like Alexis who seem to never stop. And the motivation of having something to prove is hard to beat. That’s it, forget about Anthony Martial blah blah or whatever player being linked with Arsenal right now, with Welbeck and Wilshere still in our rank, I believe Arsenal will be title contender this season if not the Premier League champions.
