According to The Times, Everton will offer Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere an £8m signing-on-fee to join them this summer.

The 26-year-old has an uncertain future at the Emirates Stadium with his contract expiring in a matter of months, and clubs are now swarming for his signature. He’s yet to sign a new deal with Arsenal as he’s refusing to take a paycut.

Wilshere was offered a contract extension worth £80k-per-week which would be heavily incentivised on appearances. However, the English international was unwilling to lose out which is why he could yet leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

The Times say Everton are looking to capitalise and will offer a substantial signing-on-fee to bring Wilshere to the Merseyside. Serie A champions Juventus have also been linked by The S*n, although the player has made no public suggestion that he even wants to leave Arsenal.

But until the player and club come to an agreement, he will be leaving Arsenal on a free transfer in three months. Wilshere wouldn’t be short of offers either, so he wouldn’t need to worry about staying at a high level after exiting the Emirates.

Arsenal will understandably prefer to tie down one of their most talented players, but it doesn’t appear they will budge on their contract offer to Wilshere.
