According to the Mirror, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is being courted by Everton and Juventus, with his contract only having three months to run. The 26-year-old has yet to agree a new deal with the Gunners and could be leaving the club at the end of the season as a result.
With Wilshere reportedly turning down Arsenal’s new deal due to a pay-cut being proposed, Everton are hoping a bumper offer will convince him to leave the Gunners for the Toffees. Juventus are also looking to tempt the midfielder away from London. There could be a lot of interest as the season winds down.
Arsenal offered their academy graduate £90k-per-week, nearly 20% less than his current £110k-per-week contract. Everton and Juventus could offer considerable greater to put themselves ahead of the Gunners in the race for his signature.
Still, suitors offering more money doesn’t guarantee Wilshere leaving. The 26-year-old loves Arsenal and hasn’t publicly stated otherwise, so it’s up to him and his club to come to an agreement. While there’s still no deal in place, however, sides across Europe will try to seize the opportunity to offer a greater deal.
Wilshere will be a free transfer in June if he and Arsenal can’t meet in the middle, so panic will be setting in that another talent player is holding the club to ransom.
