Paris Saint-Germain defender Dani Alves has urged Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to sign with the Ligue 1 side.

Alves captained Brazil to a 3-0 win over Chile in Sao Paulo on Wednesday, ending Sanchez and his teammates hopes of playing at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Speaking after the game, the former Barcelona and Juventus star said he would welcome his former teammate to the Parc des Princes with open arms.

“He is wanted by many teams,” Alves told reporters according to ESPN. “It would be good if he came with us. I will always appreciate him. I want what is best for him wherever he goes.”

When asked if he had spoken with former Barcelona teammate Sanchez, Alves added: “I didn’t want to speak much because I know how tough it is and also because I didn’t want for people to interpret things in a way that would have put my professionalism in doubt.”

The Chilean international has been involved in an impressive 35 Premier League goals for Arsenal since the beginning of last season, scoring on 24 occasions and providing 11 assists. That total is more than double that any other player has offered up in the same period at the Emirates.

Since arriving from Barca in the summer of 2014, no Arsenal player has scored more league goals than Sanchez (53).
