Arsene Wenger has admitted that both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could face the exit door at the Emirates in January.

Ozil and Sanchez are out of contract with the club at the end of the season and the duo are not expected to sign a new deal.

Sanchez saw a deadline day switch to Manchester City fall through, meanwhile Ozil is attracting interest from former boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Arsenal will earn nothing from either Ozil nor Sanchez if they are allow to leave at the end of the season and it would make business sense to cash in whilst they still can. And Wenger has revealed that could happen in the January transfer window.

Wenger said according to Sky Sports: “It’s possible.”

Earlier this week, Mesut Ozil's agent Dr Erkut Sogut via Turkish outlet claimed his client intends to stay in the Premier League for two-three more years, which has raised hope for fans that the German will sign a new deal but with interest from Man United, it's hard to know for sure if the German will be at the Emirates or at the Old Trafford for two-three year as said by his agent.

Sogut said talks with Arsenal are “positive” and Wenger is still keen on securing a new deal for his playmaker.

“I have always said that the fact we didn’t find an agreement last year doesn’t mean the player will necessarily leave,” said the Frenchman.

“Both players looked happy here and overall I hope the situation can be turned around.

“At the moment we are not close enough to announce anything.”
