According to AS, Arsenal are interested in Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak. The 25-year-old, who joined the Rojiblancos from Benfica in 2014, has become one of the best shot-stoppers in Europe, leading to interest from a host of clubs.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are named as suitors in the report, with the Gunners after a replacement for Petr Cech, Liverpool wanting a replacement for Simon Mignolet and PSG hopeful of signing a top quality goalkeeper to compete with Alphonse Areola for a starting place.

Oblak is no slouch. He has a release clause of £88m, which would make him the most expensive goalkeeper if signed and has been in fine form for Atleti this season – 18 clean sheets in 28 La Liga games.

Atleti are in a strong position given the Slovakian international is contracted at the Wanda Metropolitano for another three years. They’re in no rush to sell and would make almost £90m if he did leave. It’s hard to see Arsenal making Oblak their club-record signing, however.

Petr Cech has been inconsistent since joining Arsenal in 2015, but he still has nearly 18 months left on his deal. Reserve ‘keeper David Ospina could leave this summer due to a lack of playing time, but loanee Emi Martinez might replace the Colombian when he returns to Arsenal this summer, eliminating the need for the Gunners to shop for a replacement.
