According to The S*n, Arsenal are planning to loan out winger Reiss Nelson and striker Eddie Nketiah in a bid to land the attacking duo more playing time due to a lack of activity in the first-team in 2018.
Nketiah has made eight appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season, featuring five times from the bench in the Europa League and three times in the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup. He’s bagged an impressive nine goals in 11 reserve games but still can’t get game time for the seniors.
The 18-year-old was an unused substitute in Arsenal’s last two Europa matches and five of their last six league outings. He was given seven minutes of action in a 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion earlier in March but hasn’t managed significant game time.
Nelson was an unused substitute in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Watford and wasn’t pleased after finding out that he wouldn’t be coming on, throwing his bib onto the ground. The fellow England u19 international has made substitute appearances in the Europa League but was left out of Thursday’s last-16 meeting with AC Milan.
The 18-year-old was also left out of the EFL Cup semis and has made just one Premier League appearance this season, so a move could do him some good. Nelson has bagged seven goals for the reserves and needs a more challenge level to continue his development.
