According to Don Balon, Real Madrid and AS Monaco want to sign Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, with the latter set to lose Kylian Mbappe for good this summer. The 18-year-old is out of contract is less than 18 months and could consider his future as he struggles for playing time.

Nelson recently threw his bib in frustration in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Watford after failing to be introduced from the bench, and the ongoing lack of first-team football could see him open to a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

The England u19 international has made two starts in the Europa League and two in the EFL Cup. He’s still very young and has many years ahead of him to develop but will be mindful of other English youngsters who have shone since moving abroad.

Marcus McGuane left Arsenal for Barcelona and recently made his first-team debut. He’s impressed for the Catalan giants and is proof that English prospects can succeed elsewhere. Jadon Sancho left Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund at the age of 17 and has no regrets over the decision.

Don Balon are known for throwaway rumours regarding Arsenal, but with Nelson’s contract up in 18 months, fans should take the rumours seriously. He’s clearly unhappy at not being played in the first-team, hence the tantrum on Sunday, so why wouldn’t he be open to a move to a European giant?
