According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are considering Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann to replace Arsene Wenger.

The 30-year-old took charge of the Bundesliga side in 2016, leading Die Kraichgauer to fourth in his first season and managing them in the Champions League and Europa League this campaign.

Nagelsmann has been linked with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund after his work with Hoffenheim, but he’s also being looked at by Arsenal, who regard the young manager as perfect for their philosophy.

With Arsene Wenger’s future uncertain going into this summer, the club hierarchy are lining up potential replacements.

The Telegraph say Thierry Henry, Leonardo Jardim, Paul Fonseca, Joachim Low, Carlo Ancelotti, Brendan Rodgers and Mikel Arteta are on the shortlist, but Nagelsmann would be a coup.

Despite Hoffenheim being ninth in the Bundesliga this season, the manager’s penchant for pressing the opposition high up the pitch and playing attacking football are exactly what has attracted Arsenal.

It remains to be seen, however, whether they can convince him to turn down interest elsewhere and come to the Emirates.

The Gunners are currently sixth in the Premier League table, 10 points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham after 27 games and could endure a second consecutive season without Champions League football.
