There’s a worrying report in the Daily Star today, suggesting Manchester United are considering a bid for Aaron Ramsey in the summer. The Arsenal midfielder still isn’t any closer to agreeing a new contract and admitted the club weren’t prioritising his future.

Manchester United’s interest appears genuine. They wanted the box-to-box player before Arsenal signed him from Cardiff City in 2008 and could be short in the midfield department with Michael Carrick retiring and Marouane Fellaini being out of contract this summer.

It would be a blow to lose Ramsey given the 27-year-old’s form this season. He’s scored and created 12 goals in 17 Premier League starts and has been much more reliable than the likes of Granit Xhaka in the engine room.

Injury problems have returned, however, causing him to miss 11 league outings, but he’s still worth keeping. Arsenal have a decision to make, whether to cash in on the midfielder now or risk losing him for free next season.

With Ramsey having failed to make any progress in contract talks, could United convince him to move away from the Emirates Stadium? He’s a long-serving Arsenal player, having made over 300 appearances in 10 years at the club, but if Theo Walcott can be sold then so can Ramsey.
