According to L’Equipe, Arsenal and Napoli are considering a bid for Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont. The 19-year-old has been tipped to replace Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris as France’s first-choice shot-stopper in the future and could be on the move this summer as interest in his signature intensifies.

Arsenal are eyeing the teenager as a long-term replacement for Petr Cech who turns 36 at the end of the season and has less than 18 months on his contract. His future is uncertain, as is the inconsistent reserve goalkeeper David Ospina who’s out of contract in 2019 also.

Lafont might be too young to come straight in and replace Cech, however, so the Gunners might opt for a more experienced player to be first-choice in the future. Napoli have a similar dilemma. They need a goalkeeper as Pepe Reina looks on his way to AC Milan, but Lafont would be a gamble.

The French u20 international has been a regular for Toulouse this season, keeping 10 clean sheets in 29 Ligue 1 games, but the Serie A and Premier League would bring more pressure given the higher quality of sides. The increased interest would also mean a big asking price so Arsenal and Napoli might be met with some resistance in their pursuit of the hot prospect.
