£34m Arsenal target Arda Turan is reportedly keeping a low profile at Barcelona having dropped down the pecking order under Ernesto Valverde.

The Turkish international hasn’t make any appearances for Barca this season and has been linked with a move from Camp Nou when the transfer window re-opens in January.

According to Spanish source Sport, it states that Turan has been excluded from the first team squad and has been training away from the rest of the team. Per the source, the former Atletico Madrid attacking midfielder is refusing all contact with the media and Turan hasn’t even been active on social media this month.

The 30-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer. Spanish source AS claimed that Jose Mourinho had held talks with the Turkish midfielder.

Meanwhile CNN Turk have reported that Arsenal are in contact with Turan’s representatives and are contemplating a January move.

Turan joined Barcelona on a five-year contract from Atlético Madrid for an initial fee of £24.1m (€34m) in the 2015/16 season. Turan was then the target of the Premier League champions, Chelsea, but instead swapped Atletico for the treble-winners Barça.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United had a frustrating weekend as Arsenal were beating 2-1 at the Vicarage Road against Watford while the Red Devils were held to a goalless draw at Anfield against Liverpool.
