Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has informed the Magpies about his wish to join Arsenal during the ongoing transfer window, according to journalist David Ornstein.
The Brazil international is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. He had a phenomenal 2025/26 campaign with 15 goal contributions in the top-flight despite a lengthy hamstring injury.
Arsenal have already expressed interest in signing the former Lyon man, and they have now received a huge boost after the player personally expressed his desire to join them this summer.
Ornstein reports that the 28-year-old has communicated his intention to leave to the Magpies. He wishes to join the Premier League holders, who are preparing a £60 million deal for his services.
There are no club-to-club talks at the moment, while Newcastle are still not entertaining any bids.

Guimaraes, described as ‘very special‘ by Magpies manager Eddie Howe, would be a phenomenal acquisition for the Gunners and would be a level-raiser in the centre of the park.
Declan Rice has started to find consistency with goal involvements, but Arsenal have lacked a proper midfield partner to complement him with goals and assists when required.
Martin Zubimendi appeared an ideal signing at the start of the previous season, but his form and performance levels dipped before he was dropped for Myles Lewis-Skelly in May.
Guimaraes would be a dream partner for Rice in the heart of the midfield, and Arsenal could also afford to rest the latter in the early part of next season due to his neural hamstring pain.
