Arsenal have confirmed the signing of England international Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
The 27-year-old has joined on a long-term deal after the Gunners agreed a £60 million fee plus potential add-ons worth £7.5m.
Eze will wear the number 10 shirt in north London and becomes the club’s latest marquee arrival of the summer.
His transfer comes after Arsenal accelerated talks this week, with Kai Havertz’s recent knee injury creating urgency to strengthen their attacking options.
Eze had been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur, but Arsenal moved decisively to seal the deal and beat their rivals to his signature.
The attacking midfielder returns to the club where his career began at academy level, before he was released as a teenager.
He later rebuilt his career through Queens Park Rangers, where he became one of the Championship’s standout players before joining Crystal Palace in 2020.
During his time at Selhurst Park, Eze made 169 appearances and scored 40 goals, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most creative midfielders.
His final appearance for Palace was expected to come in the Europa Conference League play-off against Fredrikstad, but he was left out after informing the club he did not feel ready to play.
On the international stage, Eze has won 12 senior England caps since making his debut in 2023 and was part of Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.
Sporting director Andrea Berta said the club were delighted to complete the signing.
‘Eberechi is a creative and explosive talent with huge technical quality,’ he said. ‘He has shown he can deliver in the Premier League and on the international stage, and we are very confident he will be an important addition to our squad.’
Manager Mikel Arteta also welcomed the new arrival.
‘We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal,’ he said. ‘He gives us a new dimension in attack, but what also stands out is his mentality and ambition. His journey shows his resilience, and we love how much it means to him and his family to join this club.’
Eze joins a busy list of summer arrivals including Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Viktor Gyokeres, Cristhian Mosquera and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
