Dani Carvajal facing a possible four-match ban in UEFA competitions after altercation with Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal faces a possible four-match ban after clashing with Arsenal star Bukayo Saka last night, according to Spanish outlet Diario AS.

The Spaniard was seen clashing with the Gunners star at the entrance to the dressing room tunnel at half-time, pointing his finger at the Englishman and grabbing the back of his neck.

Carvajal had issues with Saka attempting to score a Panenka-style penalty in the first-half of the second-leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, but it could now land him in hot water.

The Madrid captain was not part of the official matchday squad to face Arsenal having injured himself last October, but he was seen in the area normally reserved for the coaching staff and players.

Section 15.a.viii of Article 15 of UEFA’s disciplinary regulations states that a player will be given a one-match for taking part in a game when ineligible to play, provided a sanction is deemed appropriate.

Section 15.e states that a player shall be suspended for three competitive matches or a specified period for assaulting another player or another person present at the match.

However, the match official must have included the incidents in the match report for UEFA to consider a sanction for the Madrid star.

Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners at Santiago Bernabeu thanks to goals from Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, winning 5-1 on aggregate to book a place in the semi-finals against Paris Saint-Germain, and they will be desperate to reach their first final since 2006 this term.

They will fancy their chances against the French club having defeated them 2-0 last October in the league phase, and one of Barcelona or Inter Milan will be waiting for them in the final as they bid to win their first-ever Champions League trophy.
