Real Madrid were struck by the performances of Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly, could now be keen on duo

Real Madrid were left struck by the performances of Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka and versatile midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly on Tuesday and are now interested in recruiting their services, according to the Independent journalist Miguel Delaney.

He claimed in his ‘Reading the Game’ weekly newsletter on Friday that the Gunners duo have now caught the eyes of the La Liga club after playing starring roles in their 3-0 demolition at Emirates Stadium.

“The usual reward for beating them is transfer interest in even more of your players,” Delaney wrote.

“Figures close to the club get the chatter going. An interest in William Saliba and Gabriel (Magalhaes) was already known, but there is now talk of how Madrid were struck by the performances of Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Mikel Arteta has already been rallying his players to shut all of that out.”

The 18-year-old Lewis-Skelly played at left-back against Madrid as he has done for the majority of the campaign despite being a midfielder, and he delivered at both ends of the pitch, providing the assist for the third goal scored by Mikel Merino.

The Arsenal academy graduate was one of the best players on the pitch against some of the best players in the world on Tuesday, winning 100% of his tackles, completing 100% of his dribbles, recording 95% pass accuracy, winning four duels and playing two key passes.

The England international only made his senior debut for the Gunners last September but has become a key player in the team and is now attracting Madrid.

Saka was also equally brilliant against Los Blancos, winning the two free-kicks Declan Rice scored from after giving the visiting defence a torrid time.

Madrid would love to have such a player within their ranks, but it is almost impossible to see him or Lewis-Skelly leaving Arsenal anytime soon, and both Saliba and Gabriel are likely to commit their future to the North London club in the coming months.
