Arsenal are preparing for a busy summer transfer window with plenty of incomings.
A marquee striker and a defensive midfielder should be the top targets for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta’s side could also invest in a central defender, but that could depend on an exit.
Jakub Kiwior has been decent as Gabriel Magalhaes’ deputy, but the Poland international could be sold.
The former Spezia man was the subject of several loan offers from Serie A last summer.
Arsenal could open the door for his return to Italy if a suitable permanent bid arrives.
In that case, the Gunners should explore a deal for Hato, who has been on their radar for some time.
Hato, still only 19, has established himself as a key player for Ajax and the Netherlands.
The teenager has played exclusively as a left-back this season, registering three goals and six assists.
However, he largely operated in central defence for the Dutch giants last term.
Hato has been brilliant this season with a passing accuracy of 90 percent with 60 percent aerial duels won in the Eredivisie.
He has also made four recoveries, two tackles and 1.9 clearances per league appearance.
In our view, Arsenal should make an approach for the Dutch wonderkid if Kiwior were to depart.
He has a Transfermarkt value of £26 million, but Ajax could demand £35m or more for his services.
The youngster could be persuaded to join with the help of Jurrien Timber, who is his role model.
In a recent interview with Voetbal International, Hato said: “He [Timber] made his debut as a full-back & left as a central defender & now at Arsenal, he plays everywhere in the back! He’s definitely a role model for me.”
Timber has proved a brilliant signing after his £34m move from Ajax in the summer of 2023.
The Dutchman had a forgettable debut season after a serious knee injury but has been fantastic this campaign. He has accumulated 43 appearances, the majority of them at right-back.
With Arsenal aiming to challenge for trophies, Arsenal need quality backup in every position. Hato would be a good addition to the squad if Kiwior were to head for the exit door this summer.
