Arsenal’s young free kick specialist nominated for PL2 Player of the Month

Young Polish midfielder Michal Rosiak is one of the standout players in Arsenal’s academy. He is mainly known for his free kick expertise.

After impressing with Jack Wilshere’s U18 side last season, Rosiak was promoted to the U21s and has quickly established himself as one of the top performers in Mehmet Ali’s squad.

He has recorded seven goal involvements in the Premier League 2 this season.

Following a string of outstanding performances, he has now been nominated for the division’s March Player of the Month award.

Rosiak is nominated alongside Spurs duo Reiss Denny and Jaden Williams, Middlesbrough goalkeeper Shea Connor, and Blackburn Rovers shot-stopper Nicholas Michalski.

Crystal Palace midfielder Hindolo Mustapha, Newcastle United forward Sean Neave, and Stoke City’s Emre Tezgel complete the list of nominees.

Rosiak played every minute of Arsenal’s three matches last month, and the team remained unbeaten, with two wins and a draw.

Despite being deployed as a right-back, the talented midfielder was in fine form, scoring twice.

He netted Arsenal’s opening goal in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace before netting a brilliant free-kick in a 3-0 win at Norwich City—his sixth league goal of the season.

The 19-year-old has continued his excellent form into April, scoring in a 2-2 draw with Derby County yesterday at Meadow Park to help Arsenal extend their unbeaten run to six games.

Rosiak’s strongest competitor for the award appears to be Tezgel, who scored five goals and registered one assist for Stoke in March.

Neave is also a strong contender, with two goals and two assists for Newcastle.

Striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji remains the only Arsenal player to have won the award this season, claiming it back in August.
