Arsenal have had a quiet winter transfer window, but there could be plenty of activity before next Monday’s deadline.
The Gunners are active in the transfer market for a new forward, and manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the same on many occasions.
Meanwhile, there could be some departures. Sky Sports claim that Oleksandr Zinchenko could be offloaded this week.
Borussia Dortmund have already expressed an interest in landing him, and Atletico Madrid appear to have joined the pursuit.
Zinchenko could leave on loan with buy obligation
The £30 million signing has had limited playing time this campaign. He has managed only 408 minutes from 13 appearances.
Zinchenko, described as ‘unbelievable‘ by Kevin De Bruyne, finds himself behind Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly in the pecking order for the left-back position this term.
There have also been occasions where Kieran Tierney has been preferred over Zinchenko off the bench.
With under 18 months left on his contract, Arsenal appear open to loaning him out with an obligation to buy for around £17 million.
Dortmund and Atletico are more than capable of meeting their demands, and Zinchenko looks poised to depart before the deadline.
He may not be the only defender heading for the exit door.
Tierney has been in talks over a pre-contract with former club Celtic, with his Gunners contract expiring at the end of the campaign.
However, Celtic are now looking into a possible loan deal this winter so that he can be available for the Champions League knock-outs.
We won’t be surprised by his potential exit, considering Jakub Kiwior and Jurrien Timber can also operate from the left-back position.
