Arsenal seem serious about signing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal seem to be keen on signing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic next year, according to Italian publication Sport Mediaset.

The Gunners made an approach for the Serbia international when he was at Fiorentina in January 2022, but he chose to join the Bianconeri instead.

Vlahovic has struggled for consistency in the last two-and-a-half seasons, but he has started brilliantly this term with seven goals from 10 games.

It is now reported that Arsenal ‘seem to be serious’ about signing the marksman and they are closely monitoring his contract situation in Turin.

The 24-year-old’s current deal expires in the summer of 2026 and as things stand, the Bianconeri are yet to convince him to pen a fresh contract.

Juventus could demand at least £67 million to consider his sale.

Vlahovic speculation could be agent-driven

The Gunners were determined to land Vlahovic two years ago, but he preferred to continue in Serie A with Juventus, who were Champions League regulars.

The Bianconeri have since struggled in Serie A as well as Europe. Vlahovic managed only 41 goals from 101 appearances until last season for the Turin giants.

He has had a good start this time around, but we don’t believe the Gunners will return for him as he would not fit into the playing style under manager Mikel Arteta.

Vlahovic is far from comfortable with the ball at his feet and he averages only seven passes per game this campaign. He has won just 38% of his duels thus far.

Arsenal need someone who can link-up play and win regular duels in addition to scoring goals.

Kai Havertz has done the job impressively this term. Ideally, the club may want someone like Alexander Isak or Benjamin Sesko to provide competition for places.
