Arsenal handed potential boost as Manchester City will be without Erling Haaland against Brighton & Hove Albion

Arsenal rivals Manchester City have been dealt a huge injury blow ahead of their game against Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow after manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that they will be without Norwegian striker Erling Braut Haaland for the game.

The Gunners are currently four points clear of the reigning champions at the top of the Premier League table but have played two more games.

Man City will be desperate to win against the Seagulls tomorrow and keep their title hopes alive as they will return to the top if they win their two outstanding games.

However, being without Halaand is a blow, and leaving American Express Stadium without a win will put the race firmly in the control of Arsenal.

The North Londoners demolished Chelsea 5-0 at Emirates Stadium last night and will return to action on Sunday with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to face their bitter North London rivals in another derby.

Arsenal no longer have any injury worries and could soon have Jurrien Timber available for selection after the Netherlands international defender returned to action for the first time in eight months on Monday.

The 22-year-old featured in a Premier League 2 match between Blackburn Rovers under-21s and their Arsenal counterpart at Ewood Park, playing in the first-half and capping his return with a brilliant strike.

Timber could feature against Bournemouth, Manchester United and Everton, and manager Mikel Arteta cannot wait to finally have him available for selection.

Man City will hope Haaland returns for the trip to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, but the damage may have been done by the end of tomorrow given how tough it is facing Brighton.

Arsenal will be praying they drop points against the Seagulls, and Guardiola will definitely be sweating on the fitness of the current highest goalscorer in the Premier League.
