Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs Brentford, Jesus returns

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made three changes to the starting line-up for today’s Premier League derby against Brentford on the road.

The Gunners returned to winning ways in the league before the international break and will be aiming for a second successive victory this evening.

A win over the Bees would see the club move to the top of the table after Manchester City and Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw earlier today.

Ahead of the game, Arteta has opted for three changes to the starting XI. Aaron Ramsdale obviously replaces David Raya between the sticks.

Raya, who is on loan from Brentford, is ineligible to face his parent club.

Elsewhere, the manager has gone with the same back four from the Burnley win meaning that Ben White is only on the bench after returning from a muscle injury.

In midfield, Declan Rice will start in the holding role today with Jorginho dropping to the bench.

Elsewhere, captain Martin Odegaard is back after a bout of concussion. He looks set to line up in central midfield alongside Leandro Trossard with Kai Havertz benched.

Further forward, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli continue on the wings. Gabriel Jesus has got the nod up front following his return from a hamstring injury this week.

Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-3-3) vs Brentford: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Rice, Odegaard, Trossard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.

Arsenal have not been playing at their scintillating best this season, but they have got the points which is the most important thing at the current phase of the campaign.

They have the opportunity to go one-point ahead at the summit today. Arteta has gone with a very attacking line-up in his 200th managerial appearance for the club.
