Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard has been forced to withdraw from the Belgian national team squad due to injury, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
Trossard was subbed off at half time in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City but his replacement on the day, Gabriel Martinelli, came on to score the all-important winner at the Emirates Stadium.
The return of Martinelli to action certainly comes as a big boost to Mikel Arteta’s men, who currently trail city rivals Tottenham Hotspur only on goal difference in the battle for Premier League supremacy.
However, Arsenal could be set to be without Trossard after he recently underwent scans and decided to sit out Belgium’s upcoming matches against Austria and Sweden.
Trossard found the back of the net in his most recent international outing against Estonia which took his goals tally for Domenico Tedesco’s side to six in 28 matches.
Belgium currently sit top of their Euro 2024 qualifying group with 13 points from a possible 15 and the Red Devils will be looking to take further control of Group F with maximum points from their next two matches.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will be hoping to have Trossard back in action as soon as possible with the Gunners already having to deal with a number of injuries at the moment.
Star man Bukayo Saka missed the winner over City last time out, although he is expected to report for the England national team ahead of their matches against Australia and Italy.
Arsenal take on Chelsea in their first outing after the international break on October 21 before travelling to Sevilla three days later for their third Champions League group-stage clash.
