Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka trained with his teammates on Sunday morning ahead of their Premier League game against Manchester City, reports the Daily Mail chief football reporter Sami Mokbel.
Brazil international forward Gabriel Martinelli has also accelerated his recovery from a hamstring injury in the last 48 hours, and Mokbel believes the Gunners could get a big injury boost if they include him in the matchday squad to face the Premier League leaders.
Saka limped off for the third game running on Tuesday as Arsenal suffered a 2-1 loss to RC Lens in their second Champions League group game of the season.
Martinelli has not featured for the North London club since he was withdrawn in the first-half against Everton on September 17 following a knock which kept him out of their next five games across all competitions.
It remains to be seen whether he will be available for selection today, but having him on the bench and introducing him if need be will be a huge boost for manager Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal will be desperate to secure all three points against the reigning league champions today, and having their best players available will go a long way.
Martinelli has weighed in with two assists in five Premier League games so far in 2023-24, while Saka has bagged four goals and two assists in seven league appearances.
The England international has not missed a league game for Arsenal in a long while, and they need him against Man City given his quality and impact in the big games.
That he trained today is good news, and Arteta will not hesitate to start him or introduce him off the bench in his search for victory against his former boss.
Thomas Partey is available for selection after missing a total of eight games across all competitions for club and country as a result of sustaining a groin injury in training last month.
The Ghana international midfielder turned right-back was named on the bench against Lens and was also involved in the training session on Friday.
