Arsenal appear to have been dealt a potential injury blow as Bukayo Saka was forced off in their Champions League group game against RC Lens on Tuesday evening in France.
The England international was seen pointing at his thigh 31 minutes into the game having gone down without a tackle from any of the opposition players.
Saka was later replaced with Fabio Vieira, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be worried ahead of the Premier League game against Manchester City on Sunday.
The 22-year-old limped off in his last two appearances for the Gunners and was an injury doubt ahead of their last two games.
For the third game running, Saka has been forced off injured for Arsenal, and him heading straight down the tunnel after the knock did not look good.
Arteta’s gamble to start him against Lens appears to have backfired, and the Spaniard will be sweating on the attacker’s fitness ahead of the important game this weekend.
Saka provided Gabriel Jesus with the assist for the opener before Lens drew level 11 minutes later, and further tests will be carried out on him when the squad returns to London on Wednesday.
Arsenal are just a point behind Man City in the Premier League table and a win on Sunday at Emirates Stadium will massively boost their title aspirations.
However, potentially being without Saka for the clash will be a massive blow and Arteta will be hoping the Hale End academy graduate is fit for the game.
