Arsenal could move for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens

Arsenal could be interested in signing Borussia Dortmund youngster Jamie Bynoe-Gittens next summer, according to reliable transfer insider, Dean Jones.

While the 19-year-old probably won’t be a top-priority signing for the club, the Gunners are still expected to keep an eye on him, with Chelsea also in the race for his signature.

The Englishman is the latest emerging star to have come out of Dortmund’s rich talent pool, and many are already tipping him to enjoy a stellar career.

The likes of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham have enjoyed fantastic careers at Dortmund before moving to Manchester United and Real Madrid respectively, and Bynoe-Gittens could follow in their footsteps in the coming years.

Jones told Give Me Sport:

“Bynoe-Gittens is a really interesting link but Germany has been good for him in terms of getting out into a new environment and learning about himself and how football is perceived away from England at such a young age. I don’t think it helped that he was labelled as their new Sancho but Arsenal would be a suitable fit if he wants to come back to England, if nothing more than the fact his representatives also have a few of Arsenal’s biggest players on their books. At the moment I’m not convinced this is top of Arsenal’s priority list but we know they are on the lookout for new alternatives out wide and as such I do think this is one to just keep an eye on for now. It’s also worth noting that Chelsea also have an eye on him if and when he looks for a return to England”

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens – perfect for Arsenal?

The teenage prodigy played a bit part role in Dortmund’s quest for the title last season, but still managed an impressive four-goal contributions from 15 Bundesliga appearances.

This season he has yet to open to scoring account but is already getting enough time on the pitch that clearly suggests he is being trusted by the manager.

Dubbed as the new Jude Bellingham, he is already being targeted by big clubs in Europe, including Arsenal. It has been suggested that Dortmund are not willing to let Bynoe-Gittens go for anything less than a substantial fee, which is thought to be around £26m.

Like Sancho, he also moved to Dortmund from Manchester City back in 2020, and therefore the comparisons have naturally taken off. He is a highly skillful player but he has shown worrying signs of picking up freakish injuries.

Arsenal, like Dortmund, have a history of developing young players and turning them into superstars. Therefore, a potential move for the youngster next summer cannot be completely ruled out, especially if he enjoys a fantastic 2023-24 campaign.
