Leandro Trossard delivered an impressive performance for Arsenal as they secured a hard-fought 1-0 Premier League win over Everton on Sunday.
The Gunners had picked up just one point from their previous five visits to Goodison Park, but they showed no signs of jitteriness during the game.
The club suffered an unfortunate setback with Gabriel Martinelli’s injury in the first half, but this did not affect their momentum with Trossard replacing him.
The Belgian could not make a significant impact before the break, but stepped up his performance after the interval, scoring the winner in the 69th minute.
A terrific bit of play from a corner paved the way for the goal. Trossard showed his class with a first-time left-footed shot which found the net off the far post.
Trossard has been a tremendous signing for Arsenal since his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion in January.
The 28-year-old has registered plenty of assists for the Gunners, but the goal at Goodison Park was only the second for him since his move to north London.
Aside from his goal, Trossard completed 22 out of his 26 passes attempted. He won 100% of his duels and dribbles alongside two tackles and two interceptions.
After such a display, he should be fancied to make his Champions League debut from the XI when the Gunners host PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.
Three days later, the club have a crucial north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur. It promises to be an entertainer with both teams in a fine run of form.
