Arsenal will be without Gabriel Jesus for a couple of weeks and Darren Bent has urged them to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on loan.
Jesus has undergone surgery for a knee injury and could miss the whole of August in what would be a big blow for the Gunners.
While Arsenal have Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun as options to lead the attack, manager Mikel Arteta could be looking to play other attackers in the position.
Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz can also play as strikers, but Bent believes snapping Lukaku up for a season could be beneficial for the North London club.
“If it was an option I would have taken Lukaku,” the former England international striker said on talkSPORT.
“I know a lot of Arsenal fans are probably thinking “Absolutely not”, but I think I would.
“He has got pedigree in the Premier League. He is a big physical presence, he is a battering ram. I think that would have been good, but if you cannot get him and you do not fancy Nketiah, if you do not fancy Balogun, there are not many out there.”
Lukaku has 161 Premier League goals to his name playing for the likes of West Bromwich Albion, Everton, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The 30-year-old spent last season on loan with Inter Milan and has been linked with a move to Juventus this summer as he wants to leave the Stamford Bridge club.
Lukaku brings experience and quality to the table but has divided opinions all his career despite being capable of regularly finding the back of the net on a good day.
Arsenal could do with a striker in the mould of the Belgium international, but Arteta is unlikely to consider such a player given the type of football his side currently plays.
Chelsea are also unlikely to be willing to strengthen a direct rival, and Lukaku appears to be done with English football from the look of things.
Arsenal will fancy their chances of scoring goals and winning games in the absence of Jesus, and Arteta will always come up with a brilliant to cope with such a loss.
