Manchester United have had a look at Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun as Ten Hag weighs options

Manchester United did have a look at Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, reports the Independent journalist Miguel Delaney.

The journalist claimed in his Reading the Game newsletter today, further pointing out that a move for the USA international is not seen as a realistic move.

The Red Devils are concentrating their efforts on other targets, but Balogun remains on the market, with both Inter Milan and AC Milan keen on him.

Arsenal are expected to sell the 22-year-old but are asking suitors for £50 million.

Apart from an unwillingness to strengthen a direct rival, the Gunners are unlikely to be keen on doing business and negotiating with Man United for Balogun.

The Red Devils are also unlikely to be willing to part with £50m for the youngster given that he is yet to prove himself in the Premier League.

The American spent last season on loan at Reims, bagging 22 goals in 39 games across all competitions for the Ligue 1 club.

Balogun has said he is not looking to leave on another loan again, and a permanent exit is on the cards as he is behind Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in the pecking order.

The former England youth international is currently unavailable due to a foot injury, missing the games against Man United and Barcelona on the Gunners’ pre-season tour of the United States.

The injury has prevented Balogun from showing manager Mikel Arteta what he is capable of doing in front of goal.

Marseille, RB Leipzig, AS Monaco and Crystal Palace have also been linked with the Arsenal academy graduate, and more clubs could also emerge for his services.
