Arsenal have been handed a potential boost as Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi has indicated his willingness to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The North London club were linked with the 22-year-old in February and are reportedly tracking him.
Hudson-Odoi spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen and still has one year left on his contract.
However, he has decided to leave Chelsea this summer, reports The Athletic.
Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from the Blues last month and could look to firm up their interest in Hudson-Odoi with a bid.
However, the Gunners could have developed cold feet after the Englishman failed to impress in the Bundesliga.
Hudson-Odoi scored just once and assisted once in 21 appearances across all competitions last term.
He has struggled to live up to the hype after his breakthrough campaign in 2018-19.
Hudson-Odoi ended that season with five goals and five assists in 24 appearances, earning a call-up to the England national team in March 2019 and playing thrice that year.
He has been involved in 28 goals since then for Chelsea but has fallen out of favour and is expected to leave this summer.
Hudson-Odoi is primarily a left winger but can also play on the right and through the middle.
Arsenal have a plethora of options in attack, with the acquisition of Havertz providing more quality depth and cover in the area.
While Hudson-Odoi could be available for a decent fee, the Gunners should be looking elsewhere.
He would be keen to join a club where he can play regularly once he leaves Chelsea, and he does not have what it takes to force his way into Mikel Arteta’s starting XI right now.
