Predicted Arsenal line-up vs Leeds United, Jesus starts

Arsenal entertain Leeds United in today’s Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are currently eight points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table. The lead could extend to 11 points if the results go in their favour today.

The Cityzens will be in Premier League action against Liverpool in the 12.30 pm kick-off at the Etihad Stadium before the Gunners entertain Leeds at home.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Aaron Ramsdale has played every minute of the top-flight campaign and he is expected to start. He will be eyeing his 13th clean sheet to go ahead of Nick Pope in the Golden Glove race.

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that William Saliba won’t play any part against Leeds as he has yet to recover from his back problem. The manager refused to confirm a possible return date.

In his absence, it should be the same back four from the 4-1 win over Crystal Palace. Rob Holding should partner Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of the defence.

Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko are nailed-on starters in the right and left-back spots respectively.

Thomas Partey missed Ghana’s recent outing as a precaution for a minor knock but he was spotted back in first-team training with the Gunners earlier in the week.

The Ghanaian looks set to partner Granit Xhaka in the centre of the park.

Martin Odegaard also came unscathed from the international break despite a reckless tackle from Rodri. The club captain is primed to start from his number 10 position.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are similarly assured starters on the right and left wing respectively though we could see a change up front with Gabriel Jesus leading the line.

Leandro Trossard has been fantastic since his January move. The 30 million-rated star has seven goal contributions in 12 games but Jesus should be raring to start.

The Brazilian has had another two weeks to build up his match fitness following his knee surgery and Arteta could hand him his first league start since the middle of November.
